Maloney's is a small, family run catering business with a shop on Fore Street in Hexham.
Their ethos is built on their belief in tasty, home cooked food that is packed full of fresh ingredients and full of flavour. They source their ingredients locally wherever possible.
We were asked to design an identity that worked to bring their brand values to life whether used on printed marketing, website or store interior.
The chosen brand was inspired by the old blackboard signage, recipes, natural colours and textures, and sketched, hand drawn ingredients.
Our aim was to create an interior that was down to earth, approachable and welcoming.
We combined natural countryside textures with a warm farmhouse inspired palette of colours.
As the identity is based around an old fashioned blackboard sign, we made one large wall in the shop a full blackboard from ceiling to floor. the layout was meticulously planned and hand painted.
The wall provides an eye catching focal point when shoppers came into the store and is versatile enough for Maloney's staff to change daily specials too.
'We have had so many positive comments about our identity and interior design since opening - there is no doubt in my mind that it has helped attract new customers.'
'Design Engine worked closely with us to determine exactly how we would need to use the space, then carefully planned every inch of the interior to make the very best of the space we have.'
